A product warranty is a type of guarantee that a manufacturer or similar party makes regarding the condition of its product. It also refers to the terms and situations in which repairs or exchanges will be made in case the product does not function as originally described or intended.
For example, if movement creates leaks in a balcony or a shower, and a contractor used a product for repair which had no warranty to cater for future movement without failure, would this warranty be valid? No, you are correct! The warranty would not be valid.
In our industry, epoxy and sealers are routinely used to repair leaking wet areas. Even though they have no warranty to cater for future movement, their warranties of 10 years or 25 years are still purported in the industry.
